My Keploy api fellowship experience

How did I get this opportunity?
Keploy Devresls were taking sessions in different colleges in online mode to give an introduction to APIs and unit testing with APIs. It was from one of their session that I got an introduction to the fellowship program.
The selection process was not tough, I got an invitation to the program a few days after my application. It was cohort-2 and we had an awesome team of aspiring fellows.
We had scheduled google meets from 8.30 pm to 10.00 pm. It was on alternative days so that we could get time to finish our assigned tasks. We had a total of 6 sessions with 6 tasks which were full of learning, upskilling and fun. We got to know about APIs, testing with Postman and using Keploy in our projects with all the cool stuffs.
What tasks did I complete?
The first task was writing a blog about HTTP and HTTPS protocols. I had to research this topic and learn about the fundamentals of how the internet works using the Hyper Text Transfer Protocol.
The second task was researching and writing another blog about the theoretical aspects of APIs and REST API. This was fun to learn and quite important as it is one of the fundamentals needed for using Keploy. I also published the blog for it in HashNode only. Here is the [link](https://roy-blogs.hashnode.dev/theoretical-aspects-of-api).
The third task was the integration of a free REST API from the internet to a website of ours. It was challenging part to choose which API to select. I used one from RapidAPI, it was quite easy to integrate into my project.
The fourth task was about creating a custom server using Node js and Express js. I created a project to add ebook links. It was to jot down all free ebooks available on the internet into one website from anyone. It had create and delete functionalities, for the short amount of time I couldn't deploy the server, but it was working fine on localhost.
The fifth task was an introduction to Postman, a tool for testing and improving APIs in desktop. I tested my APIs and they were working exactly as they were supposed to. I took the snaps of the tests and inserted them in the readme file of the GitHub repository.
In the sixth task, we had to write down our experience and learnings in this fellowship program. This is it.
Conclusion
These 2 weeks were great for me, the slack channel admins and all the Keploy OS advocates, Devrels and Developers were kind enough to help us with even our silly doubts and problems. I am quite glad to be able to be a part of this cohort. If you are a newbie at testing APIs and all, this program is a good start to getting hands-on experience.
Thanks for reading this far! Do like this blog and share with your fellow developer, colleagues, etc. I often write blogs on topics around web development, React, so do hit the follow button if you want to read some cool stuffs when I post them.
I am not a professional writer, still learning so if there is anything wrong with this blog, do let me know in the comments. ๐ I'll try to improve! Till then, have a nice day!! ๐
